This sculptural vessel, hand-formed from Oaxacan clay, celebrates the expressive artistry of Mexico’s ceramic traditions. Its elevated, tripod-like base recalls the ancient molcajete — a symbol of gathering and ritual — while its irregular rim and deep green glaze reflect the raw beauty of handcraft.

Each piece is shaped and glazed by artisans from the pottery towns near Santa María Atzompa, where local clays are blended with natural mineral pigments and fired in traditional wood kilns. The glaze’s rich, mossy hue and organic texture are achieved through a centuries-old process that allows smoke and flame to interact with the clay, creating unique tonal variations across every surface.

The pedestal form brings a sense of grounded elevation — perfect as a small planter, incense holder, or simply a statement piece that stands on its own. With its raw edges and sculptural presence, it bridges the ancient and the contemporary, carrying Oaxaca’s earthy soul into modern spaces.
