Women Supporting Women: In Their Thoughtful Words
I’ve always been inspired by the women in my life— I started Twenty Third because of a shared love for styling throw pillows with my mom, and I’m always inspired by my sisters and their individual style. I take a lot of encouragement from our customers who tag us on their personal accounts when styling Twenty Third by Deanne products, and I am constantly in awe of the overflowing amount of creativity I see from our primarily women audience.
Through my journey in making my dream for Twenty Third a reality, I encountered many inspiring people who encouraged me to keep going. In this conversation with a few of the women I admire most, we discuss content creation in the home decor industry, and what inspires them to be the lifestyle creators they are today. They even graciously share some of their home favorites and tips on home styling!

"...keep doing what you love doing and not let it wear you out."
First, I talked to Antonia Concepcion about her experiences as a content creator specializing in home decor and interior design.

“I have always had an intense love and interest for home decor and design, ever since I can remember. I have always been about making your space beautiful and enjoyable to be around in. It is amazing how it immediately can affect your mood, or even how you think and function when you don’t even realize it.” Antonia says about her love for home decor. “I finally caved into giving this a shot after having plenty of family, friends, and even strangers suggest on countless occasions that I need to go into the interior design business or somehow share my space and ideas with people.”
Like most of Twenty Third’s customers, Antonia likes collecting vintage pieces. “They all have a story, especially the vintage pillows, art or books that I collect. I am a bit of a history buff so anything that relates to US or European history I am immediately intrigued.”
Antonia’s biggest tip in decorating a home? Be careful about going with trends. “It’s very tempting to do so because it’s faster and easier sometimes, but I don’t let a trend or someone else’s taste drive what I like,” she shares. “I make sure that I am collecting pieces that grab my attention and that I know will work in my space with the rest of my things. I go for pieces that have a story or look like they have a story.”
Antonia also shares about her content creation journey. According to her, the biggest thing she is learning is “To just keep doing what you love doing and not let it wear you out just to get those few extra followers or likes. If you need to wait it out to really grab something that’s beautiful and inspiring to you, wait it out and give it a little time.” She also values the importance of making time for your personal life. “Make sure you’re not missing out and sacrificing family time or an incredible experience because you want to capture it on your phone or camera. Its easier said than done and It’s certainly a hard balance to strike, but I am learning to get better with it myself.”

"...only way to build a solid community."
Salina Maria, a Canada based home and lifestyle content creator is one of the people whose posts I look forward to. She says being authentic and honest is the “only way to build a solid community.”
“I want my community to know that I truly do care about them and how honored I feel to have them take time from their busy lives to appreciate and value my content.” Salina says.
Salina always had a love for art and design since she was little. “Seeing how much joy I could give others through design and styling has been my biggest reward. I love consistently learning and experimenting with different materials and implementing them into my designs.”
Salina’s favorite antique piece? She says it’s hard to choose, but her favorite is an antique chair she bought for $25. “I love this piece because I’ve loved being able to use it in unexpected places in my home such as replacing an end table.”

“...to not let numbers define you.”
Lastly, I was able to talk to Sara Le. She’s an amazing content creator and it has been amazing to see her growth through time! Sara says that her best advice to people who want to be a content creator is “to not let numbers define you.”
“Focus on staying true to yourself and creating the content that makes you the happiest!” Sara says.
Sara also shares that her favorite part of her home is definitely her living room. “It’s the coziest part of our home where we spend the most time as a family.” She considers it the true heart of her home. “I love taking in all of the little details we put so much work in and being reminded of the memories of us building everything.”
She emphasizes the importance of her family in her journey. “I’m a very simple person that finds fulfillment in the love for my family and creating. I had to overcome extremely hard struggles in my past for the happiness and success that I currently have today—we literally started from the bottom.” She explains. “I treasure everyone that believes in me and roots for my family everyday. We don’t have much of that in our personal lives, but the amount of support from the people that follow us is overwhelming and beautiful. We are so thankful.”

As we wrap up women’s month, it’s good to be reminded of how women supporting other women goes a long way. I owe a lot of the success of Twenty Third by Deanne to our loyal customers, and I’m committed to making the shop bigger and better for all of you. On another note, celebrating women shouldn’t only last one month— let’s celebrate the amazing women in our lives every day! Once again, happy International Women’s Month.
Love,
Deanne
