3 Pillow Styling Tip We Learned from Linsey Woods
Written by Linsey Woods
Hi, fellow home décor lovers! If you’ve stumbled upon here, we must already have something in common. I’m Linsey, the content creator behind @linseywoods.home over on Instagram. I’m a sharer of all things interiors, and am a firm believer that creating a cozy home you love doesn’t have to be complicated. From beginner-friendly DIY’s to budget-friendly updates, I’m passionate about sharing tips for the home that feel attainable to all.
My most recent home additions were two gorgeous Twenty Third by Deanne Kilim Pillows, and I’m totally smitten! Whether it’s a warm living room, a cozy bedroom, or an inviting sitting area, pillows are always the perfect finishing touch, in my opinion. They have the power to completely change the vibe of a room without breaking the bank – and that’s a win in my book! If you’ll be switching up your pillow styling soon, keep these few simple tips in mind:
TIP NUMBER ONE
Start with the Neutral Base
Starting with pillows that are along the lines of neutral allows you to mix and match effortlessly. I like to think of these as my anchor pieces, before adding in fun colors, patterns or textures to layer with.
TIP NUMBER TWO
Don't Be Afraid to Mix and Match
Mixing a neutral pillow with a bold pop of color or a fun, textured material is oftentimes just what your space needs! I’d encourage you to bring in a color or pattern you might not have otherwise tried – I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised
TIP NUMBER THREE
Opt Down for Alternative Fills
Choosing a down-like pillow insert is the key to achieving that full, luxury look for less! I always suggest opting for an insert one size larger than your pillow cover for extra fullness (i.e.: 20" x 20" insert for an 18" x 18" cover). Where to get down inserts?
Here's a rundown of our favorites under FAQs.
You’ve totally got this! Don’t forget to check out Deanne’s pretty lumbar styles too – those are next on my list.
